LAVENDEL EN ROZEMARIJN EN/OF DE VERASSING ZIT IN DE HERHALING

Book design for the free‍-form poetry of Dick Herweg

Sociologist, anthropologist and poet

Dick Herweg (Bergisch Gladbach 1945‍ – Amsterdam 2018) was not only sociologist and anthropologist. During his life he also wrote poetry; imaginative, absurdist, free-form observations. Some of his poems were published and distributed here and there (in De Groene Amsterdammer) but with his work in education taking most of his time, he never manifested himself as a poet. After being diagnosed with vascular dementia in 2018, his family decided to publish a selection of his poems in the collection ‘Lavender and rosemary and/or the surprise is in the repetition’.
